Cinerary Urn
These cinerary urns are handmade, each one slightly different and unique. The wooden tops and long orchard grass bindings have been created in collaboration with Uprooted Studio.
If the ashes are scattered the urn is intended to become a vase - to hold flowers as an offering to the life that was, and as something that can nourish those experiencing loss. The beautiful upturned lid is shaped to hold incense, and inside the urn a cotton bag contains the ashes securely.
If an item is not ready to ship immediately the production time is eight weeks from start to finish.

The items listed in the shop are regularly in stock, but should you order at a time when this item has sold out then the process of making is typically 6 weeks from start to finish. To get an idea of what is entailed an item is first made, then air dried, bisque fired (once the kiln is full), sanded, glazed, glaze fired and re-sanded. Each of the two firing cycles in the kiln takes approximately 24hrs and a further 48hrs to cool.

These pieces have all be made so that the glazes are as stable and durable as possible. They will be fine in the dishwasher, but the surface will stay even nicer for longer if you wash pieces by hand.
